Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019: Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni lost his cool after a controversial umpiring decision in the game between CSK and RR at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday.
It was an intense chase in Jaipur as Chennai Super Kings lost early wickets in pursuit of the target of 152 runs. Dhoni scored a brilliant 58 off 43 balls and combined with Ambati Rayudu (57 off 47 balls) to post a 95-run stand for the 5th wicket.
Rayudu was dismissed in the 18th over as Dhoni continued his blitzkrieg on one end and took the game into the final over. CSK needed 18 runs off the final over to win the game. Jadeja started off with a six of Ben Stokes’ first ball before he bowled a no-ball and conceded two runs off the second delivery. Dhoni was cleaned up with CSK needing 8 runs off the final three balls.
Hell broke loose after Stokes bowled a slow full-toss clearly above the waist and Dhoni entered the pitch to point at the straight umpire, who had raised his hands signalling a no-ball but the square-leg umpire was not convinced and the no-ball was not given. With 3 required off the last ball, Santner struck a six and sealed a thrilling win for his side.
