Nowadays it’s a very commonly asked question by few of parents who are conscious about their kids career growth. BYJU’s like app/material is very important for today’s students preparing /want to prepared for IIT,NEET,State level engg,I do agree. But before spending your hard earn money I would like to share following content shared by Geethapriya (Geetapriya Sivaraman) Santosh ,Pune (Corporate Trainer at Horizont India- Management Training & Consultancy) on her LinkedIn post.
Byju’s (educational app) marketing strategies aren’t worthy enough I feel.
This happened last week, they conducted some tests for kids from grade 4th to grade 12. My son just got interested in the test and appeared for the same since all his friends from our neighborhood were also appearing.
After the test results, I started getting calls. I finally gave them the time to meet me. After explaining all pros of their app. The guy tells husband and me to take a decision there and then. And the amount for the membership was 1 lakh 80k. I said, okay before I decide, give me your customers numbers in the neighborhood so that I can have a word with them. He then said, ma’am you won’t know them, to which I replied, I don’t have to know them. Like I sought reviews for schools, I would like to seek their opinion about this. He again said, I would give you only happy customers. I again said, doesn’t matter, just give me the contact anywhere in Pune, Blr, Mumbai, Chennai.
I could sense a different facial expression from him. I said we are salaried class, we can’t give you a cheque of 1.8 L just like that. If we need, will contact you next year. He then said but you are loosing a life time scholarship opportunity for your son. I said doesn’t matter. Thank you.
